This Privacy Policy explains how ToolNest ("we", "us", "our", or "the site") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you visit toolnest and use any of the free browser-based utilities, articles, and tools published on it. ToolNest is built and maintained by an independent developer. Our privacy philosophy is simple: we collect the minimum information needed to keep the site online and improve it, we never sell your personal information, and we never share the text, files, or numbers you type into our tools with anyone.

1. Information we collect

Tool input stays on your device. Every utility on ToolNest — word counters, JSON formatters, image compressors, calculators, converters, generators — runs entirely in your web browser using client-side JavaScript. When you type, paste, upload, or drag content into a tool, that content is processed locally on your computer or phone. It is never uploaded to our servers, never written to a database, and never available to us in any form.

Basic server logs. Like almost every website on the internet, our hosting provider records standard access logs. These typically include your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring page, and the URL you requested. Logs are used to investigate errors, fight abuse, and understand aggregate traffic patterns. They are automatically purged on a rolling schedule and are not tied to any personal profile.

Privacy-friendly analytics. We use aggregate, cookie-less analytics to understand which pages are popular and how the site performs. These analytics do not track you across other websites, do not fingerprint your device, and do not associate visits with your identity.

Contact form. When you email us or use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, and the contents of your message. We use this information only to reply to you. We do not add contact-form email addresses to a marketing list.

2. Cookies and third-party advertising

ToolNest may display third-party advertising, including advertising delivered by Google AdSense and its certified partners. These providers use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other websites. 4. Data retention

Server access logs are retained for a short rolling window (typically 30–60 days) before being deleted. Contact-form correspondence is retained for as long as needed to resolve the conversation and for a reasonable period afterward for reference. Aggregate analytics are retained for up to 24 months. Tool input is not retained at all — it is processed and discarded inside your browser.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR (Europe), UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA (California), or similar frameworks. These rights typically include the right to know what personal data we hold about you, the right to request correction or deletion, the right to object to certain processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. 6. Children's privacy

We serve ToolNest over HTTPS and follow industry-standard practices to protect the small amount of information we do handle. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but because our tools run entirely in your browser, there is very little sensitive data on our side to breach in the first place.

8. International visitors

ToolNest is hosted on global content-delivery infrastructure. When you visit the site your request may be served from a data center in a different country from the one you live in. By using the site you consent to this cross-border processing.

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to the site, our tools, our advertising partners, or applicable law. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
